As mentioned above, this script will install Audacious2 on versions released before Ubuntu Karmic (9.10).
You can use this script by typing the following in the terminal after you've downloaded the script:

sh audacious2_on_jaunty.sh

Then it will install the Audacious2-player on your older Ubuntu.

This script is tested on Ubuntu 9.04 x86_64, and should in theory work on all Ubuntu versions.
